Stampede Tutoring
The Green Stampede/Oakland A's Homework Club is an afterschool tutoring program that works with underprivledged middle-school and high school students from the Oakland Public Schools.
If you are an Oakland-area middle school student or you would like to help volunteer in the tutoring program (no experience necessary), please send an e-mail to tutoring@greenstampede.com or call (510)562-2506.
The program is staffed by credentialed teachers with assistance from high school seniors, but volunteers are always welcome. The program occurs at weeknight home games during the baseball season. Students come to the Coliseum after school and complete their school assignments. The students are then invited to stay for the A's game that night. The Athletics, with the Port of Oakland, provide the study space and the ticket for the game in the evening.
